2. 0 Performance and characteristics

I. Closed Micro-cell Structure

The magnified picture shows the completely closed micro-cell structure of ORIENT Polyethylene Foam (PEF), the average diameter of cell is about 50?m, which means cells with 20 layers are arranged within the material of 1 micrometer (mm) thickness, all of which allows the lowest water vapor permeability and effectively prevents the transmission of heat.

The thermal conductivity coefficient (K-value) is 0. 0326 W/m. K that can remain steady, so that the insulating property will be lasting without being affected as time moves on.

III. Outstanding Moisture and Vapor Resistance

PEF, foamed with high-pressured PE of film blowing grade, has outstanding moisture and vapor resistance, even under the situation of applying for PE membrane of 1 ?m thickness.

IV. Excellent Water Resistance

Water absorbing rate is 0. 0019g/cm3. The insulating effect remains unchanged despite soaking constantly, even under the situation of dew condensation.

VI. Long Work Life and Outstanding Durability

The work life of PEF is able to reach more than 15 years when applied in central air conditioning. The main component of raw material is with high-pressured PE of film blowing grade that is a kind of ideal petrol-chemical products. The aging resistance is better than that of Rubber, Polystyrene (PS), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Polyurethane (PU). Also, this kind of PE needs no reagent for aging resistance performance.

VII. Superior Fire Resistance

The burning properties reach GB8624-1997B1 Grade, tested by National Center for Quality Supervision & Test of Fireproofing Building Materials, sampled and approved by Guangdong Public Security and Fireproofing Bureau. In addition, PEF materials are one of the safest flex thermal insulation, which do not contain PVC and harmful gases such as Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) and Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) in the released gases.

VIII. Advanced Processing Technology
