1. EDTA

Properties: White crystal powder, melting point 240centigrade (break down). Insoluble in cold water, ethanol, general organic solution; Soluble in NaOH, Na2CO3, ammonia solution and boiling water at 100centigrade. Its alkali metal salt is soluble in water. The solubility of sodium salt in water refer to the following table.

Usage: EDTA has a wide application. It can be used as bleaching fixer in processing of colorful sensitive materials, dying reagent, fiber processing reagent, additive in cosmetics, anticoagulant, detergent, stabilizer, polymerization reagent in synthetic rubber. EDTA is a typical chelated reagent, which can form stable water soluble complex with alkali metals, lanthanide and transition metals. Besides chelated sodium salt, there are many alkali metal salt chelated with iron, magnesium, calcium, cuprum, manganese, zinc, cobalt, aluminum, which has different application respectively.

2. EDTA Disodium

Properties: White crystal powder, contain two molecular crystal water, tend to lose crystal water in dry condition, freely soluble in water, particularly insoluble in organic solvents, such as ethanol, ether.

Application: It is used as bleaching fixer in processing of colorful sensitive material, dying auxiliary, fiber processing reagent, chelator, detergent, stabilizer, synthesized rubber, heavy metal analyzer. EDTA, as main component of activator, mainly is applied in chelating iron ion with high speed.

3. EDTA-FeNa. 3H2O 13% Powder or crystals

Properties: Brown yellow or yellowish pure powder, freely soluble in water, iron exist as chelated form.

Application: Used as discoloring reagent in photography, additive in food industry, microelements in agriculture, catalyst in industry.

4. EDTA-FeNH4 13.9% Powder or crystals

Properties: Dark brown red liquid, freely soluble in water, low toxin. It is a kind of oxidant and tend to lose crystal water when heated.

Application: It is mainly used as bleacher or chelate reagent in developing leechdom for sensitive material with low toxicity, strong bleaching activity and high speed.

5. EDTA-MnNa2 13% Powder or crystals

Properties: Tiny pink powder, freely soluble in water, Mn exist in chelated form.

Application: Used as microelements nutrient in agriculture.

6. EDTA-CuNa2 15% powder or crystals

Properties: Blue powder, freely soluble in water, Cu exist in chelated form.

Application: Used as microelements nutrient in agriculture.

7. EDTA-ZnNa2 15% powder or crystals

Properties: White crystal powder, freely soluble in water, Zn exist in chelated form.

Application: Used as microelements nutrient in agriculture.
