Application

The Knife Isolators and Knife Transfer Isolators of Series HD17, HD11B, HD13B, HD14B, HS11B, and HS13B (hereinafter referred to as Knife Switch) can be used in the circuit of AC 50 Hz (or 60 Hz), DC 230V, rated current up to 1500A, serving for infrequently and manually switching on/off or isolating of the circuit. It is applicable for indoor use.

Normal Working Conditions

1. The ambient air temperature shall not exceed +40º C. The average value shall not exceed +35º C within 24 hours. The lower-limit of ambient air temperature is -5º C.

2. The height above sea level for installing the switch shall not exceed 2000m.

3. When at max. Temperature of +40º C, relative air humidity shall not exceed 50%. Higher relative humidity such as 90% at the temperature of 20º C, is allowed under lower temperature. Special measure shall be taken against occasional condensation caused by temp. Change.

4. The pollution grade of environment for installing switch is 3.

5. The switch shall be vertically installed in the place without vibration or shock.

Structural Features

This series knife switches apply to single knife blade for rated current 100A-400A, and double knife blade for rated current 600A-1500A. The contact pressure is obtained from blade spring fixed at the two sides of knife blade.

The knife switch with lever operating mechanism applies arc chute, which is riveted by insulating plate and steel slab lattice, to cut off rated current. All the knife switches of various specifications apply same type of operation mechanism, which is designed with obvious on-off indication and reliable locating device.

The knife switches of various series apply glass fiber die pressure plate or bakelite board.

Usage:

The equipment is suitable for the electric network, which has the rated operation voltage of 400V, operation current of 3600A or below, frequency 50Hz A.C. and used as power lighting, electric energy transforming, protecting and controlling in the system of electricity generation, transmitting and distribution.

Sturcture Feature:

1.The frame of switchgear equipment are made of C-shaped bar section with modular holes which are arranged at intervals of 25mm. The bar section has been zinc-plated and passivated (or the steel plate coated with aluminum and zine can be used alternatively.) The basic frames are assembled with the C-shaped bar section using self-tapping screws or high strength bolts.

2.The body of switchgear could be divided into the function compartment, the cable compartment and the bus-bar compartment, each one is separated by the fire resistant engineering plastic piece or steel plate.

3.Frames and drawer units compose different types of combination. The drawer units possess features of compact size, high performance, good interchangeability, easy maintenance and reliable contacting etc.

4.There is L-shaped copper busbar in the switchgear. It is inlaid in the function partition wall, which is made of fire resistant engineering plastics. The protective grade of the electrified part reaches IP2X.

5.There is reliable mechanical interlocking device inside drawer units. The mechanical interlocking device makes drawer units possible to be on three obvious positions of connection, test and separation. The handles of mechanical interlocking device and breaker could be locked by padlock simultaneously.
