Cymoxanil is a fungicide used on crops including potatoes, tomatoes, and grapes. Cymoxanil is an acetimide compound used as both a curative and preventative foliar fungicide. In Europe it is being sold for use on grapes, potatoes, tomatoes, hops, sugarbeets and other vegetable crops.

Myclobutanil is a systemic fungicide used for powdery mildew, black spot of rose, fungal leaf spots, rusts, anthracnose and other diseases of flowers and ornamentals shrubs and trees.

Properties:

Tech: Amber liquid, boiling point95C; Vapor pressure < 3X10-6 mm Hg(20C). Well miscible with most organic solvents.

Use:

Broad spectrum for Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, and Deuteromycetes disease on wheat, barley, rye, oats, rice, and grasses grown for seed.

Sulphonylurea (s.U.) herbicides are commonly used on the alkaline soils of South Australia Eyre Peninsula. Coarse textured topsoils allow these herbicides to be easily leached into the subsoil. Recent evidence suggests these herbicides may be accumulating at depth (N.Pederson, pers. Comm.) and could present problems for sensitive species, for example annual medics. A pot experiment was established in 1995 to investigate residual rates of (s.U.) herbicide triasulfuron on root growth of annual medic.

Chemical Class: Organophosphate

Introduction: Dimethoate is an organophosphate insecticide used to kill mites and insects systemically and on contact. It is used against a wide range of insects, including aphids, thrips, planthoppers, and whiteflies on ornamental plants, alfalfa, apples, corn, cotton, grapefruit, grapes, lemons, melons, oranges, pears, pecans, safflower, sorghum, soybeans, tangerines, tobacco, tomatoes, watermelons, wheat, and other vegetables. It is also used as a residual wall spray in farm buildings for house flies. Dimethoate has been administered to livestock for control of botflies. Dimethoate is available in aerosol spray, dust, emulsifiable concentrate, and ULV concentrate formulations.

Bensultap is a new insecticide with low toxicity. It has broad spectrum contacting, stomach and conduction poison. It can also be used by plants from roots, mainly applied for controlling the lepidopter and coloopter.
