Function and Application: POST ZD-1 is a composite of fatty acid zinc soap. It features good compatitility and non-blooming and has double functions of both mastication and lubrication. It can act as the physico-chemical plasticizer to decrease the Mooney viscosity of raw rubber or rubber mix by adding it to NR or SR during mastication or mixing.

As a result, the flowability overall processibility of rubber are improved, the masticating and mixing temperatures are lowered and the masticating and mixing times are reduced, and thus the energy consumption is decreased significantly and the productivity is increased. POST ZD-1 also can act as the modulus promotor to increase the modulus of vulcanizate, and as the disperser to improve the dispersion of carbon black and silica in rubber mix. In addition, ZD-1 is effective to improve the other physical properties of vulcanizate, such as heat build-up and tear property.

The dimension stability and acceptance of rubber product can be increased by adding ZD-1 without affecting the curing characteristics of rubber compound and the adhesion of rubber to metal and textile. ZD-1 is applicable to NR, BR, SBR, NBR and so on.

Usage: 1-3 phr(generally 2 phr)of ZD-1 can be directly added into the mixer either during the mastication or during the early mixing stage along with the other ingredients based on the original formula. POST ZD-1 shows no adverse effect on the curing characteristics, so it is usually unnecessary to adjust the curing system.
