Uses: PVI/CTP is a pre-vulcanization inhibitor which enables processing safety to be controlled in a predictable manner in sulfur cureable compounds.

Major applications and properties:

- CTP prevulcanization inhibitor delays the onset of vulcanization with little or no influence on curing characteristics or vulcanizate properties.

- It is most effective with sulfenamide accelerators but may also be used with thiazoles, guanidines, thiurams and dithiocarbamates.

- The activity of CTP is dependent upon the polymer used in the following decreasing order of activity: NR> NBR> SBR> EPDM> IIR> CR.

- CTP is particularly useful for improving the efficiency of plant processing operations such as mixing. Calendering, extruding and molding. Additionally it provides improved green stock storage stability and can be useful in single stage mixing and in recovery of partially scorched compounds.

- CTP is non-staining but may give slight discoloration in light colored or white articles.

Excessive addition may lead to the screw skid, bad adhesion of printing ink while printing, bad heat seal adhesive strength etc. Because of adogen 48 is too much. Due to other additives, such as anstatic agent, ultraviolet stabilizing agent, processing additive etc, maybe transfer, when mixed with these additives may lead to the above problem too, so it is very important to evaluate the whole combination of the additives.

1. Physical and chemical properties:

Synthetic calcium sulfonate of medium base number (150TBN ) is a brownish red liquid and non -toxic the flash point is 190. It can react with strong oxidants.

2. Applications:

The product has the advantages of excellent neutralization power and high temperature detergency and rust preventive property. It can be mainly used for blending high and medium-grade lubricating oil used in internal combustion engines with the result of substantial reduction of high temperature deposits accumulated on the parts of the engines, maintaining the cleanliness of the pistons, less corrosion by acidic matters and rustiness to the parts. In this case the lubricating oil can be used for longer time. Better compounding effect can be obtained when the product is blended with ashless dispersant, anti-oxidant and corrosion inhibitors. The quantity of the product to be added into lubricating oil is from 0.67% to 2.5%.
